I'm setting up a new system. I created organizations, currency codes, item set, company set, and had started creating GL accounts.
When I re-logged in as MAXADMIN, I get an error saying that there are no start centers. No other users have been setup yet, and I'm not sure why MAXADMIN no longer has start centers.
Any thoughts?
Start Centers are assigned through Security Groups. Check the Security Groups that Maxadmin belongs to and make sure at least one group has a start center assigned to it. You'll see the Start Center assignment on the main page of the Security Groups application.

When I log in, all I get is "You do not have any Start Centers configured. Please contact your system administrator."
I'm logging in as the system administrator, and there is nothing when I click 'Go-To'.

I haven't gotten to the point of setting up sites yet. I was setting up orgs, sets, then gl accounts.
The next time I logged in, for whatever reason, maxadmin could no longer do anything. weird..... I'm very new to maximo, but I wouldn't think that I could mess things up this bad.. :).

### I just recalled that I was actually starting to setup a site, and when I tried to activate it, it said I had to have a clearing account. That is when I started entering the gl account info.
So, I actually do have one inactive site entered..

Please donot dig too much.
For brand new installations, there may not have Start Centers as there is
no data and setup.
Create some records in applications and configure one start center.

Thanks,

**RESOLVED**
I found the issue. The maxadmin user lost its association to the MAXADMIN group. Basically we are using an external DSEE authentication that has the maximo application configured, but there are no users or groups yet. When the job runs to query the DSEE server, it blows the MAXADMIN group assignment and leaves maxadmin belonging to only the EVERYONE group.
So... I tweaked the database to reassign maxadmin to MAXADMIN, and disabled the authorization job. Now I can login and see everything.
The next step for me is to figure out if I can implement Active Directory Authorization/Authentication.

If you're setting up a database from scratch, and haven't got any knowledge
of Maximo, you might want to consider downloading a copy of the Rapid
Engagement Guide.
Better yet, get a consultant. There are some things the literature won't
tell you, like "yeah, you can do that, but it's really not a good idea" -
and other stuff like that. Maximo is a huge program, after all, and there's
no way you can learn all the things you need to know - as fast as it looks
like you need to know them J
