Upgrading the Database without Upgrading Maximo Application.

From: khalilkarim (2012-08-14 03:54)

Hi,
We have to upgrade the database from MS SQL 2000 to MS SQL 2008 R2. The Maximo application is of version 7.1.1.5 with the right fix pack that supports MS SQL 2008 R2.
Just wanted to be sure that nothing out of ordinary will happen. Moreover do I need to put anything under consideration before doing the database upgrade.
Thanks and looking forward to your suggestions.
With Kind Regards,
Khalil Karim.

Surprising that Maximo 7 is working with SQL 2000. . .
Anyhow, what I can think of is you may have to change some maximo.properties paramaters/values for the upgraded database. I know going from SQL 2000 to 2005 there were changes IBM recommended like the cursor setting, using prefetch rows, and some other stuff. I think they are supposed to affect performance.

Make sure that all your integrations that are using IFACE tables work correctly.
