Setting up a WARRANTY CONTRACT in MAXIMO 7.5
Problem statement: there are several pre-requisites here and the MX system messaging is not very intuitive.
In any case, you need to know the Vendor, Start-End Dates, and Asset numbers (or Location records).
The order of events:
1) The User Security Group needs to have Contract Limits entered.
2) Goto Warranty Contracts and Insert new record
3) Provide Vendor and Start-End Dates
4) Enter applicable Properties
5) Enter at least one contract line called SERVICE
6) Then, Select Action, Authorize to Sites
7) Approve the warranty contract
8) Then
. Link the contract to specific Asset IDs
You can test this setup by going to WOTRACK and creating a new work order against one of these assets.
