Serving Actuate Reports Without Maximo

From: jakesteijn (2012-11-19 21:53)

One of my Maximo 6 clients wants to make his crew backlog reports available to supervisors via some kind of an external (non-Maximo) web site or portal. He has the idea that he can send email to a supervisor with a link directly to the appropriate report, allowing the super to view his crew backlog without logging in to Maximo. I think he has seen some information about Maximo 5.2/Actuate 7's portal and wants something along that line.
I don't see evidence of such a portal being available in the Actuate 8 that was bundled with Maximo 6. I'm looking for suggestions about how to move forward. My initial suggestion was to look into using BIRT as an independent reporting server. But of course that involves setting up a new service etc. Right now it's the last resort option, I guess.

You can set up your reports to be emailed on a daily basis based on a job task.  You can define this either within Maximo under the Run Reports select action or you can use the Actuate Management console to create job tasks to email certain reports to individuals or groups as needed on whatever time frame is required.

I also believe if you wish to play around in the Actuate management console you can create a group or something like that the allows direct access to run reports from within the management console without the user having access to Maximo.
