Hi all,
System Maximo 6.1 on BEA WebLogic Server 8.1
Configured attached documents.
File types such as: (xls, ppt, tif, bmp, jpg, pdf, mht, html, xlw) can get opened upon viewing the attachment
But files with extensions: (msg, mdi) failed to open with the message
Please advise me what could be wrong in my settings. Should I add a specific setting in doclink.properties file?

You need to add the mime-mapping parameters to your web.xml file located within your DOCLONKS\WEB-INF directory for your additional file types of msg and mdi.

Hi,
I think you need to add additional file types and their MIME types in order for maximo to understand the type of the file and which program to use to open the file.
Don't know about weblogic but in WebSphere you add these file types and their MIME types in "httpconf**" file.
If you have already done that, then I think there would be some problem in your browser settings where you would have to define your browser that when ever you open a "msg" OR "mdi" file within the browser it should use the concerned application to run that file.
Hope this is useful.
Regards,
Khalil.
