Basic failure analysis is within the reach of everyone and anyone using modern-day CMMS technology. Unfortunately if the data is not entered then it is impossible to extract. But more importantly, there seems to be a misunderstanding or lack of awareness as to what might be possible. The system administrators (e.g. core team) have a responsibility for pursuing this primary purpose. Regardless of industry, any organization can perform this analysis to help them identify recurring problem areas and become more proactive. The first step is to define the process.
