Glenn,
I would have to say that John Sullivan gave you some pretty sound advice!
Maximo 4.1.1 is arguably one of the most solid versions of Maximo although it is no longer formally supported. There are those of us out there than have been in the business long enough to know it well, but a lot of the newer folks didn't know Maximo until IBM became involved with it!
An upgrade would come at a substantial cost and some business need justification would be advised. Potentially with some support, you could keep your current instance running and manage it with some assistance or training.
Stay in touch if you need further assistance or support.

I also agree with John and now Glen, I started on version 1.1b and if you are a small shop there is no reason to upgrade unless you have the money, requirements and infrastructure to support it.
I left a company using 4.1.1 back in 2001 and they are still using 4.1.1 and seem to be quite happy with it.
The following site is very useful if you need SQR info, I don't believe there is much activity now, but there will be Maximo stuff if you browse the archives. You can also check the files section of this group, I don't think I have retired the 4.11 stuff, but I may have.
