EAR Deployment in Clustered Enviroment

From: oscjake (2013-01-18 23:19)

Can anyone verify how to deploy EAR in a clustered enviroment?
I know I set up the cluster first and then deploy the ear but do I deploy once to the cluster or deploy once for every app server inside the cluster? Thanks in advance.

Assuming WebSphere....
When you are deploying to a clustered environment, you deploy once to the cluster. However you also have to target the HTTP server in your deployment.

Thank you for the information. Could you explain what targeting the HTTP server means exactly?

In the deploy application wizard, there is a screen called Map Modules, I think it's about the 5th screen in the wizard. On the top is a listing of the servers and clusters and under that are all the modules that make up the Maximo application. When you deploy to a cluster you need to highlight BOTH your cluster name and the name of you HTTP server at the top. Then you select all modules and hit apply.

I'm on WAS 7.0.x, if you are on a different version yours might be slightly different.
