Re: Maximo 7.1 start center display issue, IE 9, Firefox, Chrome

From: al_potanin (2013-02-14 03:42)

Hi Sam,
Regarding first problem (in IE9) try to refresh IE cache on users computers. Usually this problem happens after Maximo upgrade...
Regarding Firefox try cache as well but I don't think this is a problem. Try to disable all addons.
Good luck
Alexey

In addition to clearing the IE cache, have them put https://maximo (replace maximo with the name of your production environment) in their trusted sites in IE.  (Tools > Internet Options > Security (hilight Trusted Sites and then add the url)

I had a similar problem with a Start Center after an upgrade.

In my case, I had Maximo marked as a favourite, so when I deleted the cache, it didn’t work until I also removed the check-mark saying “Preserve Favorites Website data”. After that, everything was fine – but it took a lot of time sorting that out.

Hope this helps.

Shannon,
Thank you for pointing this out! I think you solved our mystery problem. After seeing your post I followed up with some of my support techs and found this step was being done hit or miss sttyle.

It certainly was frustrating for me at the time. I was in the middle of a re-install of the server, actually, and when I logged in as MAXADMIN, nothing worked. That stressed me out a lot for a while until I identified this issue, since I wasn’t sure whether I had installed the server correctly.

Glad to know it helped you as well …
