Tip of the Day #274

From: John (2013-03-09 23:09)

Subject: Importance of Stakeholders
Stakeholders are individuals who were involved with the selection/purchase of the CMMS software (usually upper management), or, current administrators of the system, or, power users from the work groups. They are sometimes called the Core Team. Staff within this group may have knowledge in industry best practices. The stakeholders are usually responsible for establishing the overall vision and creating value. This vision normally includes strategies for system use, process optimization, and techniques for leveraging data to make better decisions. But, there is no guarantee that the stakeholders will have this complete vision. Critical knowledge areas could be missing. Unclear roles between the stakeholders may exist. Or maybe they knew what was required but couldn't figure out how to get there. Advanced processes have complexity. Without stakeholders it may be difficult to create ROI.
