Tip of the Day #275

From: John (2013-03-17 19:42)

Subject: Importance of Buy-in
This could easily be the most important ¡§best practice¡¨ any client organization could have. With cultural buy-in, people seem to do the right thing without being asked. And they seek continuous improvement. But how do you know if everyone is on the same page at your organization?
Ideallly,
¡K 10% are always supportive
¡K 80% just want to do the right thing
¡K 10% are really not in favor of this CMMS product
For those who are confident in program I might suggest the following:
„« Document it. Write it up. Publish with a major trade magazine, e.g. Uptime, Maintenance Technology or Plant Services.
„« Ask management if you can create a video. Create a high level script. Be sure to interview working level, management, and all stakeholders. Ask how they use it, how important it is to the organization, how better decisions are made using the CMMS, etc.
„« Continue performing end-user surveys to keep a pulse on possible problems, and be proactive.
In an organization that has disapproval ratings from upper management - and working level - then that is most unfortunate.
But that¡¦s another subject, on how to ¡§turn it around¡¨.
