My organization is looking for a solution to simply monitor the activity of several beach attendants that work across several of our beaches and parks (Maximo locations). The main purpose is to try gauge when they were at each location and for how long. We want to know that they are making their rounds, similar to the way a security guard scans his tag as he goes through a mall. We don't necessarily need to use a work order as they are only responsible for restroom cleaning, emptying trash cans and patrolling for litter. These are highly public areas that if they are not doing their job we are going to know about it. Each attendant may have 5-10 locations that they go to daily and may hit each location several times a day. Initial thoughts are using labor reporting against the location but we want to simplify this, maybe an RFID card swipe when they arrive/leave a location. They already have an RFID chip in their employee name tag. Every location has a secure location to store equipment such as a laptop that might have a network connection depending on the location. Supervisors make rounds to each site and would collect the data from each location that is not connected to the network. Each attendant is equipped with a standard cell phone already, but we have not ruled out smart phones or a GPS solution.
Please provide feedback if you have done something similar. Please give some feedback of your experience.
We are currently using Maximo 7.1.1.8 and SQL server 2008
moving towards 7.5 with Spatial.
