We routinely use inspection type work orders accross the plant. If someone finds some work to do arising from an inspection (for instance - add some oil) we'd like that noted in the W/O and be able to search W/O history for these instances. This would be for work done during the inspection, not work done at another scheduled time, where we employ follow up work orders with a different work type.
Have other sites developed some way of flagging W/Os to note work arising?
Classifications is one way to do it.
Add a few work order classifications and each could have attributes.
Example: classification could be set up for 'Minor Maintenance'
One attribute could be 'Text field'
Second attribute could be 'Quantity'
For your example: 'Text field' would be filled in with 'Added some oil'
'Quantity' could be filled in with '2 qts'
You could easily search on Work Orders of Type 'Inspection' and classification of 'Minor Maintenance'
This could be expanded upon greatly depending upon your needs.
