How can I edit the inbox/assignments to not show items that are in status of ('CLOSE','CAN')

If the inbox / assignments are showing cancelled and closed records, there's
something the matter with your workflow design. I would look into why a
"history" record is in workflow.
For the immediate problem, if you stop workflow on those records, they will
disappear from the inbox. There's no way to filter the inbox itself.

This happens in earlier version of Maximo. It the WF and the assingnment
role was configured to send to multiple people and set such that any one
could approve then the WF assignment for all others remained in the inbox.
