Escalation to cancel PM generated work orders

From: djpeplinski707 (2013-08-20 19:33)

Hi, I wonder if I could get some assistance.
We have an escalation set to look for particular work orders generated from a PM, and to then cancel them automatically.
The problem is that when you cancel the work order interactively in the browser, a message pops up saying "BMXAA8231I: If you cancel the work order, the preventative maintenance record is not re-instated. Do you wish to continue?"
We believe this interactive message is causing the escalation to fail. Does anyone have any experience dealing with this situation, any suggestions on how to get around this impediment?
This is in Maximo 7.5.0.3. Thanks for reading.
Dave Peplinski.

Hi, In older versions, we are currently on 7.1, The PM is re-set & re-generates the Workorder. We got round this, as we did not want the re-generation, we created a synonym status NOTREQD to be equivalent to COMP, and changed the Workorder status to that. This may be a suitable alternative for you, as it will not trigger your message.
