Is it possible to consume an external web service in maximo?

From: (2014-02-13 07:28)

Hi, I need to set up maximo to call a web service exposed by an external system. Can someone help me in understanding how this can be done.
1. Is there a way in maximo to do this.
2. Would a middle tier application / java code would always be needed to achieve this ?
3. Any other approach that you can suggest.
Thanks

Goto integration – interactions – create interaction
And follow the wizard (not easy it will probably take you a few shots )
Else
You could probably do it with an automation script
Just look up in google
calling a web service in jython
or
calling a web service in python

I haven’t tried the automation script before but I have used interactions, Interactions are a bit clunky but they do work and they involve no code

also look at invocation channels but unless you have middleware you will need to process the inbound xml via xslt or a class
