We are setting up our PM schedules which include meter readings, multiple times a day. Maximo's lowest frequency is DAILY. We tried to set it as .33 (for 3x a day), and receive an error (not a valid integer).
Any ideas on how we can accomplish this?
It's not elegant, but the first thought would be three daily PMs per asset,
one for (say) 0100, one for 0900, and one for 1700.

The second thought would be a job plan with three tasks, to be completed
individually (the tasks wouldn't inherit the parent's status) at 0100,
0900, and 1700.

Thanks Chris this may work. As you stated not pretty, but gets the job done, one work order with 3 tasks.
So thinking out loud, since the owner is someone different on each shift, it would have to be transferred to the next shift, for the next task to be completed, correct?
Where as the first suggestion, would generate 3 separate work orders, one for each shift, correct?

Exactly. The other possibility for the work order with three tasks would be
to assign it to an owner group if you have set rotations who are always
responsible for the same equipment. Done that way, you could put three
people and a supervisor or admin into the owner group and not have to deal
with as much reassignment.

What version of Maximo are you setting the up on, do you have Workflow, and what database are you using?
Both solutions; three workorders and 1 parent with 3 tasks have multiple workorders (activities/workorder, it’s all the same under the covers)
You could use Workflow to handle each of the tasks of a single parent Work Order, releasing each “task” to an ownergroup (if you’re on 6.x, 7.x) at the appropriate time and then logging the results and closing the parent at the end of the day, even emailing the manager(s) that everything was completed … etc <grin>
You can generate them all 7-10 days in advance – since it’s being controlled by Workflow you’d have everything easily trackable, well setup, notifcations going out, records closeing appropriately, etc… <smile>
