Active Directory Conflict

From: shirleyvelez.pmtech (2014-05-13 11:07)

Hi Group,

I have a conflict between Active Directory and Maximo 7.5. Our problem is that because Active Directory is controlling password modification whenever a transaction needs electronic signature and password is submitted, then the transaction can't be completed. The password is rejected, even though is the same password I use to login to Maximo. What setting could be causing this conflict?

Are you using AD directly for authentication, or do you have LDAP synch set up to load the Maximo userbase from AD, or some other mechanism I haven't thought of?

You imply that the password you use to log in to Maximo is the same as that used by Active Directory (AD), and thus the same as the Windows domain account you are using. Is that correct?

Are you getting an error from AD that clearly relates the rejection to invalid credentials?

It's rather odd that using the correct password would do this, unless for some reason AD is not actually getting a valid transaction fro Maximo.

We have the same setup and it never happens. Can you be more specific?
What is the exact message when you do exactly what?

I just found out what it was, the setting in Security Controls - Workflow process for auto-created LDAP users was set to: LDAPUSERWF, once I changed to SELFREG, problem is solved. Why and how it was set like that, maybe when activating the authentication through AD, thank you all for your help.

OK, I said it's solve, but the issue still remains with some of the users, but not with others. What could be causing this.
