Hi Guys,
I'm on 7.501 and have come across an issue where approved PM workorders have been deleted. We have auditing turned for the workorder table so I can see that they are generated from the PM application and then deleted within a couple of seconds, I know that they are not task wo but can't see if they are children generated from a route or not.
The users who are doing this do not have access to delete workorders in security but do have access to generate PMs and do so on occasion.
My real problem lies in the fact that our integration with our finance system is set up to send out on approval so is being triggered and causes integration errors when data is sent back and the workorder does not exist in Maximo.
So any help on what the users might be doing that is deleting these workorders and how to prevent it would be very useful.
Why are you guys deleting work orders any way ?

I don't think that work orders can be deleted through the front end business objects. I think it is a back-end deletion. Consider debugging your integration. Review the actual integration commands and what they do.
Thanks for your responses. We don't actually want the users to be able to delete workorders and thought we had all the bases covered to prevent that happening. We are thinking that there is a process when generating workorders from PM that is causing the deletion, as the time between generation and deletion are so close together. But none of the users i have spoken to recall doing anything out of the ordinary on the occasions when the deletions have happened.
We really need to identify what is causing this to happen and prevent further occurrences.
What does it say in the PM log file

Actually, it is possible to delete a WO with the appropriate rights. At least in v7.1.x it is with the following conditions - WO in status = 'WAPPR' and created directly as a WO (not via a Service Request). This is not an issue at our site because our PMs generate as WO Status = 'APPR'. This is because we believe that, by definition, a PM is an approved work request. So you may want to consider generating your PMs with status = 'APPR' to prevent the problem.
