Job Plan Task Conditions

From: incomm (2015-01-20 14:43)

I'm trying to figure out a way of creating a set of conditions that apply to Job Plan tasks, whereby if the job plan is used on a PM work order, certain tasks will only be added to the work order according to where the job plan sequence is.

Theoretically, if it can be done, it would allow us to collapse all of the job plans for a certain asset / PM sequence into one, where certain tasks only get included in the work order if it's a 500-hour PM, and others get included only for 1000-hr PMs, etc.

Has anyone tried anything like that yet?

Have you looked into nesting at all?

Yes, but the problem we have is that the Job Plan steps are divided into sections, i.e.:

ENGINE
ELECTRICAL
COOLING
DRIVE TRAIN

So with a nested plan, hence a separate work order, the guy doing the job would do the ENGINE stuff in the first work order, then go to the ELECTRICAL, COOLING, and DRIVE TRAIN stuff in the first work order, then go to the second work order and have to go back to ENGINE again. It’s not very efficient …

If you are on 7.5, in the organizations application, you can enable conditions on job tasks. Then you can specify conditions on every job task, or only those that need to be conditionally applied. It works, but as I said, only part of 7.5.
