My dept. has been running PMs manually for 10 years. Until three years ago, they completely ignored frequencies. Now I'm ready to pull the trigger to get PMs to generate without human intervention, and am encountering unexpected resistance. What else am I doing this for, if not to automate this step?
Any ideas, support, validation, consolation gratefully accepted, as I'm not going to this month's CanMUG meeting...
I feel your frustration...
What industry are you in? Is it regulated, e.g oil/gas, pharma, food, auto, etc? If so, there is a significant compliance issue with the potential of missed PMs or Calibrations. If not, you can still justify by the impact of missed/delayed PMs. If you cannot, then someone in your maintenance org needs to justify why you're even performing the PMs.
Don't forget that Job Plan sequencing, Seasonal scheduling all need the PM frequency set up correctly and auto generate on time.
