editing item vendor information? possible?

App Server IBM WebSphere Application Server 7.0.0.15
Version IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.5.0.8 Build 201504071004 DB Build V7508-00
IBM TPAE Integration Framework 7.5.1.3 Build 20150403-1800 DB Build V7513-02
Server OS Windows Server 2008 R2 6.1 build 7601 Service Pack 1
Server DB Microsoft SQL Server 10.50 (10.50.2550)

We have an item with three (3) vendors. Vendors are all different, have different catalog numbers, manufacturers, models, prices. I have, for example, a 3" gas valve. One line has a cat#, model #, manufacturer for its vendor line. All good. The other two are lacking cat#, model #, and manufacturer. How (and where) should I edit this so the right make-model is associated to this item for this vendor?

I tried item master, no good. Says manufacturer, model, catalog are read-only. If I make them writeable using appDesigner, won't save changes. What am I missing here? I can't believe you only get one shot to set this.

Hi Chris: you can't edit an existing line in the Item Master, but it's perfectly acceptable to add a new one - in fact, Maximo will do that anyway if that data is changed on a PO and Received.
I would just delete the old incomplete line after that.

You know it's funny, I did exactly that after I wrote this. I saw "New Row" and thought "Why the hell not?" and it worked. So now I can kick that problem back to my end users. Weekend engaged!
