I'm having issues with attachments in Maximo. The is issue is that I have an excel file on a PR and when I try to view it I get the pop up of what do you want to do Open as, save, save as.
If you use open as it already has Microsoft word as a type to open the attachment.
I've already added the necessary extensions to the http.conf file and restarted the server and still no luck.
Can anyone help me out?

You need to tell your desktop OS to handle XLS with Excel; this is not a Maximo issue once the browser pulls it down for you.
What browser and version are you using? Are you using IE 11?
What Office version are you using?
There are some issues with Maximo generating incompatible Excel files, but you're talking about attachments you've uploaded to Maximo.
Have you tried with Firefox or Chrome and see if the behavior differs?
