please help Maximo died and I cannot revive it

Still on my test system, trying to get to 7.6. . .

I went to install patch 7.6.0.6. And yes, I did back up the SMP folder and the database as instructed. So I install the patch, and it fails. TDToolkit did not like the symbols I had used in the native Maximo user's password. So I restored from backup the database and the SMP folder, and went on with life while awaiting help from IBM on the diagnosis.

So once they did figure out and tell me it's a problem with TDToolkit not liking the password, I changed the password and tried to re-install the patch. But it wouldn't run. So I contact same support tech and he tells me two other folders to restore. . .BUT THE INSTRUCTIONS DIDN'T SAY TO BACK THEM UP!! So. . .long story short I'm now trying about my 7th attempt at reinstalling EVERYTHING (WebSphere and all its components, and Maximo) and getting it back to being LDAP-connected, using Kerberos SSO, and secured with SSL. I had it running great for a long time that way. Then I tried the patch. . .

Right now, I just finished a clean install of WebSphere and Maximo 7.6.0.0, except I kept the existing database (I've been working on migrating data, configuring screens, adding pictures to records, for a long time now.) And for what it's worth, all components are installed on one virtual machine. And, this is the simplest install possible. . .not trying LDAP, SSL, or SSO yet. So, right now, if I'm logged in to the server where everything is installed, I can get to the traditional Maximo login page, am able to login, and see data. All good there. But I cannot get to the Maximo login screen from any other computer. What am I missing?

System's been down since Wednesday morning. . .

Update: Figured out that had to be a Firewall issue. Made a rule on the Firewall to allow communication on the port Maximo uses, and now I can get to the login page from a remote machine. Yea! Now on to LDAP and SSO. . .
