Maximo 7 Attached document crashed .... !!

From: Chandan2 Singh (2012-01-20 13:26)

Hi Experts,
Need your help to make attached document configuration working. Below is
the system configuration.
Maximo IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.1
Operating Sys Windows Server 2003
Database Oracle 11g
Application Server WebSphere 6.*.*.*
I have two application server (two separate physical machine). HTTPServer
and WebSphere is installed on both the physical machines and cluster is
configured across these physical server with many JVMs to support UI and
other configurations. WebSphere is running as a window service under a
service account.
I am configuring attached document for the configuration summary given
above.
I am using I:\DOCLINKS on application server A to store all the attached
document files. I have created a network drive H: on both the application
servers (Server A and B) which points to the drive having attached
document on Server A. I have used the H:\DOCLINKS in the maximo system
properties (for doclinks) to define the top path and default path.
I have shared the attached document folder with everyone, so there should
not be any access issue. Also I am able to view the network folder content
under window explorer and DOS.
After this when I try to create a new folder and assign a default path
H:\DOCLINK\Attachments, under manage folder in Maximo. It flashes an error
"Entered folder location H:\DOCLINKS\Attachment is not valid". I think
websphere is not able to detect the mapped drive.
Please suggest how can I make the mapped drive (H:) visible to WebSphere
or Is there any other way out which I should try to get this feature
working.
Please help ... I am stuck .... :(
Thanks,
Chandan

Questions:
1. I assume that the HTTPServer is not the same as the WebSphere
server running Maximo - correct?
2. Which machine is Server A, that has the documents on it? I can
tell that it's not the WebSphere server. Is it the HTTP server or a third
server?
