Our new servers have windows server 2008 and Actuate is not compatible with that version. So we need to go to BIRT. So I'm told.

Unfortunately there isn't a direct conversion tool from Actuate to BIRT. Since you're still on 6.2.x, why not stay with Actuate until you uprade to 7.x?

Conversion isn't all the bad. You can copy the SQL, you can also create the fetch from the .bas file as well create additional templates to fit your requirements.
If you have tons of Actuate queries that folks used as excel sheets as I did, you can create templates with additional columns.
If I recall the maximo list template had 6 columns I created a couple with 15 and 25. Then you'll need to convert any methods to JavaScript.
Be prepared for carpal tunnel if you are doing this all day :-)
