Default dates

From: dennis_belandres (2011-10-11 10:35)

To add a default date for a date/time field in database configuration just
add "&SYSDATE&" for current date and time as Default Value. What if I want
to have the same functionality as SYSDATE+30 to add thirty days? I am
getting "BMXAA4144E - The date/time format is not valid." message. I've
tried the following combination so far with the same results:
&SYSDATE&+30
&SYSDATE&+&30&
(&SYSDATE&)+30
SYSDATE+30
My target is to set PR.REQUIREDATE to have this as default date/time.
Environment:
Maximo 7.1.1.5
2005 SQL Server
Websphere 6.1
Any suggestions is much appreciated.
Dennis

Hi Victor,

Thanks for taking the time with my predicament.
I tried the following

:&datetime& + 30
(:&datetime&) + 30

Same issue.

Hi Dennis,
For doing the calculated default, you will have to run an escalation action. You cannot put the calculated default value in database configuration i.e., :&Date& + 30 which is incorrect in database configuration but we can use this in Actions application and run escalation to update the values.
Hope this helps.

Victor,

The reasoning behind this is that we are getting null information in the
PR.REQUIREDDATE when reordering items through Inventory reorder process.
We are integrating Maximo with an external systems and running the
reordering process bi-weekly, which creates around 40-100 PR's at any
given time. Having to manually enter dates hinders our goal of trying to
automate this process. I could run an escalation to do the task or update
the database through the back-end but if we can set a default information
in the initial PR creation that would cut off the extra steps.
There's got to be a way.

Regards,

Dennis

We had the same issue with re-order. Our solution was to extend the PR
class file and add the code there. It was the only way we could get the
date to populate out a week on PR's during auto-reorder. Doing it that
way, also covers you when you are duplicating req's as well..

Brian,

Haven't really done any java class customization but wouldn't hesitate to
try.
To tell you the truth, I have no idea where to start.
I do have a development box where I can test customizing, with your
guidance or at least some direction (or sample).

Thanks in advance,

Dennis

[MAXIMO List] Re: Default dates

Hi Dennis,

For doing the calculated default, you will have to run an escalation
action. You cannot put the calculated default value in database
configuration i.e., :&Date& + 30 which is incorrect in database
configuration but we can use this in Actions application and run
escalation to update the values.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
Using 7.1.1.8 I have the following including the colon in the default field of database configuration for the follow up date of the PO
:&DATE&+14
That will put today's date plus 14 days in the follow up field of the PO.
You can put the calculation in the default field of database configuration.

Hi Dave,

Tried ":&DATE&+30" as Default Value for PR.REQUIREDDATE and got
"BMXAA4144E - The date/time format is not valid" message when trying to
save changes.

We are on Maximo 7.1.1.5

Regards,

Dennis

Hi,

Using 7.1.1.8 I have the following including the colon in the default
field of database configuration for the follow up date of the PO

:&DATE&+14

That will put today's date plus 14 days in the follow up field of the PO.

You can put the calculation in the default field of database
configuration.

Hi,
Look at the Type for PR.REQUIREDDATE . In my sandbox system it has datetime.
Use:&DATETIME&+30 for the default value for a datetime field.
Or change the type to just date.
Hope that helps.
