Re: [MAXIMO List] PO Issue with workorder

From: ggutierrez (2012-02-22 21:34)

That's good info there. I have an escalation that close's workorders that have a status of 'COMP' after 180 days. I will try to see about how to do like yours.
Thx,

I agree – I use a similar setup with my clients, i.e. no one can close a
work order, and no one can close a PO. I have escalations running to close
both of them.

The PO gets closed if a) the status is APPR; b) CHANGEDATE < {current date}
– xx days (usually 30 or 60); c) Receipts = ‘COMPLETE’; and d) all receipts
have been invoiced.

The Work order gets closed if a) status = ‘COMP’; b) CHANGEDATE < {current
date} – xx days (usually 60 or 90); and c) there are no open Pos referencing
that work order.

It works quite well, although a bit of training is usually needed on the
topic of completing PO receipts. A lot of users don’t realize that the
“Complete Receipts” function exists, and tend to resist the whole thing
until they are made aware of it.

Just my $.02 worth …

Hi,
We never had version 6 installed but I think the issue is the work order is
now closed and the system cannot make any changes to the work order.
Removing the WO from the PO the system may need to adjust the planned
materials.
You'll need to have someone change the work order directly in the database
to historyflag = 0 and status APPR. Then you should be able to change the PO
and go back and close the WO. It's relatively easy to do but as always you
should test this before doing it in production.
You can close a WO even if there is an open PO for that work order. That's
the reason we do not allow any user to close a WO. They can only COMP
complete a work order. Six months after the COMP status the system closes
the work order. That way we can get all of the receipts and adjustments from
invoices done before the close.
